There's no doubt the car pulls more in the cold. It's been 50 - 60 deg here lately and I can feel a difference compared to when it's 90. Gotta remember that there's less grip though in the corners.

Things like this are generally more noticeable in low tq/small displacement cars.

colder air is denser, and contains more oxygen (thus, a better combustion). You actually ARE getting more power. (i think?)
Yes you are correct, and I am very aware of the way this works. I guess I am just saying I notice it more with the S than with my previous cars, specifically my K20 civic.

Actually the tranny fluid that I have in (I think MT-90 or whatever redlines colder weather tranny fluid is) is pretty good in the colder weather. It is the rear differential that I notice more. And yes the tires deffinately have less grip

Absolutely correct, I monitor my intake temps and they rarely get above 75F this time of year. In the summer they hover around 100F.

This is with a FIPK for what its worth. Car is pulling much better in this weather!

Thats good to know. I'm coming up on a trans oil & diff oil change. I'll probably put in some cold weather stuff

This effect (colder = more HP) is more pronounced in the s2000 because of the way the ECU manages things. It goes "conservative" in warmer weather, which makes the HP loss even more noticable.

Forget AEM, Comptech, and all the others. Mother Nature is the best CAI.

I've always wondered why it was MORE noticeable in this car that others I've owned.

Temp was 55F and sunny today, I felt like I was flying on my way home from work. Plus having the top down with a cool breeze was perfect.
