Default Anyone has experience consigning their S2K?

I am thinking of consigning my S2000 to a dealership in Orange County. Does anybody have any advice as what to do or which dealership to do it at? Thanks in advance

This might be a dumb suggestion but have you actually spoken to any dealerships about it? They might be able to tell you

why would you make payments on and insure a vehicle that you can't use?

if the dealer has more than one used S on their lot, your S is gonna sell last, as there is no cost of holding it in the "inventory"?

do you really want people joyriding in YOUR s?

you have TWO carmaxs within one hours drive of you. go and find out what they'll offer for your car.

have you done any leg work, or do you anticipate/expect someone on this board to dispose of your car for you?

I am a dealer and we do that once in a while for good customers not anyone else. It is illegal in most states. If something happens to you're car while it is on the lot, who pays for it? The dealer won't, it's really dangerous especially with the S. Good luck though. I know Carmax won't give you much for it, they are out to make big bucks.

Who on earth would pay $27k for a 4 model year old S2000???? They (and you) are dreaming if you think it will be selling for anything close to that....I doubt they will get $24k for it either.... You may have not noticed, but modified S2000's generally sell for less than stock ones... and yours is out of warranty(i think), etc....... harsh reality.... drop the price and get rid of it. Here is a guy with a 2000 red one w/ 13k for $21k (asking price).

Someone could ship it cross country for $800....

Stop the insanity!!!!
