I was thinking of looking into runflats for this car. I dont have much expierence in the tires themselves, but, I know a little bit about them. I was wondering if anyone was using them or had used them in the past.

I hear they are NOT really made for hi-perf. I've heard Vette guys rave about how much better their cars handled after dumping the OEM run-flats. I guess these tires have their place, but that not on a S2000 IMHO!

I know that a significant amount of the handling advantage of the Z06 Corvette over the regular C5 is attributed to the elimination of the run-flat tires used on the regular 'Vettes.

Translation: run flat tires are a handling compromise

Yea, I was thinking about the performance gap created by using them after I posted. I guess it all depends on how you drive the car. Its made to be performance driven thats for sure.

My inital intrest in investigating them was being able to remove the jack and the minispare and possibly having some more "equipment" room for audio. Also, since you are not supposed to use the spare on the rear tires it would save you some time on the side of the road in the event you did get a flat in the back.

This noob just wanted some input.

Not a bad question!

What about those fix a flat deals? I used on a secretary's Explorer last week and wondered what the long term effect would be on a SO2? Anybody have any experience with this goo?
