Thumbs up ANYONE HAVE GEARS NOT INTENDED FOR THE S2K?

Hey guys, did anyone went the cheap route and get 4.44 gears from another car?

Can I just take it to a mechanic and have them install them; aka they fit right in with no mods?

What model car did you get, year, and from where did you get them? Also what was the price?

Thanks!

Or if anyone else is selling 4.56 gears please tell me!

Do it the right way and buy some from Rick or HTG. You could also look in the FS section and buy a set from there. Don't try to get a set from another type of car to try to save a few bucks.

Funny part is.... the Ricks (4.57, 4.56, whatever...) isn't intended for our cars either. ALL of those gears whine because they aren't perfect fits. The 4.44s of 4.77s from other companies actually fit better, and thus do not whine.

If you want to get technical, Mazda sells gears to multiple companies... it's not unusual at all. I still think the 4.44s are by FAR the best gears for our cars.

Actually the Richmond 4.57R and current 4.56 were designed and built specifically for the S2000. That's part of the reason they're a bit pricey.
