got my hardtop from jeff @ ganley, he's cool to work with and got a great deal on my hardtop..

anyways, it seems the weather stripping is pulling away from the hardtop? and air is coming in from the bottom rear of the side windows when i drive. here are pics from the outside.

link to another post where i posted the pics

also was wondering about that gap in the rear if its normal. that is with the levers in the locked position. thanks for all help and advice!!!

1st, that gap is normal, however, it can be made smaller but this needed to be done before you tightened the HT bracket bolts completely. With them loose and the latch NOT latched, you have a helper put some weight down on the HT thus moving the brackets up relative to the top. In this position, you then tighten all the bolts. When you latch the top, you'll notice that the seal along the rear edge compresses more and the gap is less but still there.
As for the window seal, I didn't have this problem with mine. I notice in your post that you "forced" the top to align with the holes in the brackets. This may have caused the top the "narrow" and thus do not rest in a more natural position (ie. closer to the window seals).
As already stated in the other thread, following the downloaded HandA directions step by step is the only way to go. Skipping steps may lead to misalignment issues.

I just got my hardtop and I have the same gaps. I too am experiencing wind noise. Seems to be coming from the bottom rear corner of the windows. Any advice?

thanks xviper for your help...

i think doing what xviper said..."that gap is normal, however, it can be made smaller but this needed to be done before you tightened the HT bracket bolts completely. With them loose and the latch NOT latched, you have a helper put some weight down on the HT thus moving the brackets up relative to the top. In this position, you then tighten all the bolts. but the weather strip stretching away from the HT and exposing some metal is still a mystery to me. xviper said his HT doesn't do that, and i don't think mine should as well. perhaps contact honda about this? would a self-installed HT not be covered under the HT warranty?
