Default HEEELLLPPP HARDTOP INSTALL PROBLEMS

I need some major help by somebody that knows the hardtop installation. I purchased a hardtop from my friend who was trading in his 2005... I took off all the installtion parts needed from his car.. I bent the corner piece on the drivers side that the bracket mounts on... Everything is mounted and put back together, BUT I try and put the hardtop on and it doesn't fit... The hardtop is about a inch farther over on the passenger side... The latches do not line up... it almost seems like the hardtop needs to go back and more to the drivers side about an inch.... Anyway I'm super upset after doing all this work and it not fitting, how dissapointing huh? ? If anyone knows about this problem or can help me please POST BACK...

You say you bent the driver's side piece - didn't you also bend the passenger's side? You should have.

On the pdf instructions that I got off google it says only bend the drivers side... it needs to go to more that way too so I don't think it is necessary to bend the passengers side... I need to get the hardtop cus its at my friends house that I bought it from who lives 50 miles away... I will try to get down there to get the top so I can post some pics... I greatly appreciate the help... thanks

I just installed a hardtop. It didn't seem to line up well, despite following the instructions. Then I discovered that one of the latch pins did not fall into the cavity in the side-catcher. It's very difficult to see, especially after you've lowered it in place. Check your placement.

From the handa .pdf, which I used and which I believe is an official Honda instruction:

"19. Repeat step 18 to install the right body side
catcher in the same way, except there are no
wires to connect on the right side of the vehicle."

just take off the rear corner plastic trim pieces on the hardtop and loosen all of the bolts holding the pins. then adjust the top on the car and tighten the bolts.
