I am thinking about getting the smart tire monitor. I think its a good thing to add to our car for wireless rite pressure monitoring. I forgot who, but someone on this board installed it in his visor. Well anythoughts would help.

I think Rick Hesel had tire pressure monitors installed.

Tedster does. Long story but we had an incident relating to the install on the way to Laguna Seca in January. Otherwise, I think he likes the device.

Yup, Jerry's right, I've got one of those babies. The revised version that I have has smaller and lighter sensors and a better display than the original that you may see in Rick's pictures.

I think my problem was caused by the installation not being done right, but it's working fine now. You definately want to get the optional display module that shows the actual tire pressure and temperature; without that it's pretty useless.

I'm trying to decide if I will move the sensors to my new wheels or not, so if you are interested in a used SmarTire setup, let me know.

Ted

i have it on my car as well.. i find it very informative, especially if you're going to be running slightly oversized tires on your stock rims - you can make sure they aren't bulging and wearing down the middle prematurely. the tire temp function of it isn't THAT critical, but i do like the function that tells you how far off your preset ideal each tire is (ex. -1, +2, etc.). it's not for everyone, but i like it
