anyone heard of Electron replacement tops?
my top got damaged (along with alot of other parts of the car) when I hit a deer a few weeks ago...
the body shop and insurance is trying to get me to let them do an aftermarket top instead OEM... the brand was Electron they said. I havent seen anything on the forums about that so I thought I would ask and see if anyone has had experience with them?? google says this is thier website http://www.electrontop.com/
or any other recomendations on what to do about the top?? things to watch out for, etc with the body shop and insurance... im really worried about proper fit and look if it... I have an '03 btw.

i'd stick with topsonline.com. they sell the same tops for a good amount less. i personally bought a robbins top made from stayfast canvas with a glass window (and defrost grid) for $649. looks like electron sells the same top minus the defrost grid for $1110.

price really isnt an issue for me since insurance will be covering it. I am more worried about fittement and such compared to OEM. also material differences and pros/cons of that.
basically i just want to know what the best fitting and longest lasting top is haha..

that's cool. luckily, i've only ever had to replace one. not fun. hopefully i won't have to do it again. i personally think the stayfast material looks more expensive than the oem material, but it's probably just personal preference. the fit isn't perfect (there are some small wrinkles in some places), but it's a convertible...it's never gonna be perfect.
