Hi guys just got back from Putnam race course and it was my first. All I can say is I am ADDICTED!!!! Straght line racing(ie just gun the throttle in an empty lane) is history for me now. I now know what the fuss is about control of the car. =)

Have been asking around but no one knows whether there is any race track that is open to the public around here in Indiana. Can you guys recommend a few?

Ps I spun out 3 times but nothing was broken nor was anyone hurt. The first time I spun was because I got too confident and the instructor was saying "Great Great thats the line! etc" It got over my head and the first spun was a wake up call. After that I sort of freaked out(hence two more spins) because it reminded me of my Boxster incident a year ago where I spun off a hill and almost died on the public road.

 

You will probably want to check with the local SCCA or PCA to see about track time.
I know IRP(Indy Raceway Park) has SCCA club races.

 

I heard that there's a great big oval one in Indianapolis, I think. (What a smartass!)

 

Gingerman and Gratten are up in Michigan. Blackhawk Farms is in Illinois. Road America is in Wisconsin. Mid-Ohio is in.....

 

Yes, Gingerman Raceway is in South Haven Michigan. I have done 6 or 7 track days there this year...it's a terrific track, the S2000 is quite at home there. In fact, I just got back from another all day session today...remember those front tires I bought about a month ago? Well, I'm heading back to tirerack.com here very soon!
