I was at one of the local dealerships in the area and they had a spa yellow S2k advertised as "$2993 down and $469/month incl tax for 48 months and 12K miles /year"..seems like a good deal for leasing an S2k...whattya guys think??? I didn't get the financial details of the lease, because I didn't want them to hold me hostage there trying to pressure me into buying the car . I really love the silver and the black flavors, but spa yellow is kinda growing on me(not like zit, but in a good way ). I could be swayed depending on the deal. I saw my first S2k 2 weeks ago and now I'M OBSESSED

Welcome to the club of obsession...!

Sounds like a decent monthly payment, actually, but I wonder how many miles that includes. I got mine on a Honda financing alternative called a Smart Buy. I bought it through my corporation, so it's almost a complete write off... That is one advantage to being self-employed...

Find out how many miles that includes and then you will have a little more info on the program. Sounds like a decent deal, even though the sticker price is in the outer atmosphere...if the monthly payment is workable and the amount of miles is right, go for it!

Hi

I am leasing mine at 960$ a month (Canadian) with no money down. I get 24000km per year.

Due to the nature of my job I am able to write off 65% of it (that includes everything like tires, brakes, gas, insurance, registration, license, etc).

BUT I didn't know that when I got the car. I changed jobs 3 months after I took possession of the car and then learned of my new benefits! Let me tell you this is the first year I look forward to my taxes!! I am looking at a 53% tax bracket now so everything helps.

i thought about putting it on my corporate american express since there isn't a limit and saying its a 'creative' expense.. like that my creative juices can't get going till around 9k rpm and explaining how at speeds of 150+ visions of future business models flow like water.. but i still don't think it would fly. can't believe you guys are actually getting away with that.

I also lease my car. I don't know if the numbers help since I'm a Canadian but I pay $680.00 Mth with $11,000 down

Now what you didn't mention was what the buy back is. After a lease there is a residual amount left over that you have to pay if you want to keep the car. Mine is $12,000 Including taxes. Most buybacks are PLUS taxes. I am paying these taxes over the cousre of the lease so technically I own the car. Regestered solely in my own name. I still get all the advantages of tax write offs.

It is absolutly crucial to find out what the buy back is. UNLESS you don't want to keep the car after 4 years. You can make your payments as low as possible ( essentialy renting the car) however with a high buyback you will lose any equity you have in the car.

down > $2993
payments > $22512
Plus Buy Back $_______
Plus taxes $_______
This is what your total outlay will be on this car. It may or may not be a good deal depending on that last number.
I hope this helps, I know I was a little long winded but leasing a car can be tricky

Mike

I leased my '00 stook. $5K down @ $438/mo. for 66 mo. w/$17k residual; 12K mi/year. I can either walk away or purchase at end of lease. The Mo. pmt. includes all taxes. I am retired, so I don't get any tax benefits, but I do get the lower payment that wouldn't be available with conventional financing. It's really sort of like financing with a balloon note at the end of the lease.

Hey rev, I leased my stook too. I did a 4 year lease at 12,000 miles a year, with only a grand down my payment is $533. The stook is an excellent lease choice, the residual is very high, and you always have the option to buy.

Hey guys-thanks for all your input...I just called the dealer an hour ago and told him that I would like to go over the financial details of the lease first thing tomorrow morning. That Spa Yellow is calling my name ...luckily it's still there. Sounds like a decent deal...if the money factor and residual look OK, then I think I will be gettin' that bad boy . VVVRRROOOOMMMMMM!!! AAAGGGHHHH....THE OBSESSION CONTINUES .
