I just detoxed from a 2 plus year run of Miata mods....

I am staying stock (for now) & will work on my skills to come up to the S's potential before I increase the S's potential...
In other words the potential to have problems is increased if the potential skill of this driver is not exponentially increased relative to the potential time spent behind the wheeel of my S. Potentially i could have more fun by increasing my driving potential prior to increasing performance potential of said S.

btw - I've added Lucid rear speakers & S badges...

Most can't drive a S to it's full performance envelope in stock form yet go out and do "performance" mods which makes the problem worse. Check out the tires on most and they will tell you how the car is driven. And if you can drive the S to it's full potentional you most likely are a sponsored racer, and I doubt they would be driving a S . Joe Sixpack is fooling himself by adding peformance mods that are way beyond his driving abilities. Money would be better spent at a proper racing school.

I've mostly gone for the look mods, not performance. I do have the CAI, exhaust, and X-brace. But they are for the driving experience. In Florida, the CAI causes less bog in hot temps. The exhaust just sounds cool, the x-brace does make the driving experience tighter. So those are worth it to me to do the mod. Then you have your "looks" mods. I love my eyelids and cleared corners, as well as my S badges.

Sooner or later, you will want to do a few mods to your car. I can look back at my early posts and show where I thought I'd keep my car stock. Those were "famous last words".

I'm betting you will mod. If not, more power to ya, but you will be missing out on some fon IMO.

Your car may be stock now, but you will get the bug.

All stock performance/looks wise. Only thing changed out was the crappy head unit. Otherwise the car is perfect!

I would like to add a Mugen exhaust later on just for the sound!

Just an X-Brace for me. I know when to leave well enough alone.

Mine is bone stock. I have a 100k Honda extended warranty and I'm not giving them any opportunity to deny anything. Besides, it is a great car right out of the box!

Mine's completely stock but I've only had it five days!

I can see myself adding the front and rear factory spoilers eventually but I'm in no hurry to do that. The other items I want to add to the car eventually will be an alarm system, one of those auto dimming inside mirrors, the in-trunk multi-disk CD player, and a clear bra, not necessarily in that order!

I have no plans to ever modify the engine, drive train, or suspension system at this time.

Drive Safe,
Steve R.

Autocross is a great incentive to NOT mod your car, since it will bump you out of Bstock. That's kept me from doing anything except add Major Havok wind blockers and Modifry's glove box organizer.
And if Saner ever gets his act together, I'll get a new swaybar.
