Default Anyone return their leased S?

Just curious what they look for. I'm turning mine in in July. I take great care of the car, all maintenance done, no dents, all stock, etc but it needs new tires. I don't want to drop a grand on tires that I'll only get a couple thousand miles out of. Anyone with experience know if they count tires as normal wear or what?

Thanks.

ask the stealership, depending on miles it may be normal wear. you could just buy the car after the lease is up...then them tires can be put to good use.

Depending on the lease aggrement they sometimes take in account for normal wear, in some cases they actually build in a wear allowance.mine was 1500.00 in wear/reapairs.
my front tires were 3/32nds and they just put the cost of tires towards the 1500.00 wear credit. i paid nothing at drop off. but i also did not get any of the remaining credit back!! but it worked out well for me.
they will start calling you about 2 months ahead of time. and independant inspector will come out and inspect car, make sure its clean and have all your maintainance records printed out. it was pretty painless. i hope your getting another S2000. goodluck

it would be funny if you put some really crappy no name brand tires on it and gave it back. They are technically "new" tires and will be safe. The next owner of the car however would be in for one hell of a disappointment with the car though!

When I bought my used S, I skipped over a couple cars with off-brand tires, thinking that anyone who put crap tires on the car probably didn't take care of it. In fact, I almost didn't buy the one I got because the salesman told me Michelins when in fact it had Bridgestone RE050As on it (it was in IN, I had a guy from another forum check it out for me.)
