Default Anyone sell their G35C for a S2000?

I have had my G35C 6MT for almost 2 years now. I love the car but think maybe its time for a change. Interestingly enough, I came across this S2000 for sale by an owner who got a G35C: S2000
I always thought I would have the G35 long term but now I am not so sure. Maybe its just part being a car enthusiast that you want them all. I have been eyeing EVO's and STi's as well but prefer the S2000 looks.

First of all, I realize they are very different cars. I bought the G35C when it first came out and it was my first car that I could be excited about. I have spent a decent amount of money on mods (intake, exhaust, springs, sway bars, Volks) and have enjoyed my time with it. Its a great car but I feel like I would prefer a lighter, more nimble car. Part of me says that its crazy to sell a car you love just because you wonder what else is out there. The other part says life is short and go for it.

I would like input from anyone who has had considerable seat time in both. I am not that concerned with the loss of daily drivability. I am already riding on 19's and stiffer springs. I could make due with a 2-seater and I live in Arizona so the winter is a non-issue.

I am really into canyon/mountain runs and recently participated in a track day. The G35 is a decent performer with upgraded suspension and wider wheels/tires, but there is no getting around the fact its a heavy pig.

How tall/big are you? For the most part it seems like the S2000 harshness would be okay for u.

wow.. both cars are great in different ways... i can guarantee you'll have way more fun driving the s2k, however you would loseout in ways of luxury, depends what you want

the inside of the s2k seems rather "cheap" to me... but honestly i didnt buy it for the luxury

your best bet would to test drive an s2k... and you'll see how the car does whatever you want it to, and fits like a glove, also puts a smile on your face everytime you hit that push button start

If i could afford it, I would love to have both the G35C AND an s2k... but unfortunately I can only have one

You asked for considerable experience..... The S was a dream of mine that came true almost 2 years ago now. I LOVE EVERY SINGLE SECOND that I'm behind the wheel of this car, 2 years later I still stare at it and "tuck it in at night" (make sure the garage door is securely closed...just for a peek). For a "real" sports car enthusiast (this has a specific definition and those who are, know what it is) the S2k is absolutely the definitive transport.

About 4 months ago it was time to get my wife a new car, we chose the G35c over a 330i for a number of reasons. Both of us love it, she drives about 60 miles a day and its comfortable and suitably luxurious AND sporty. I like it on long highway trips and to drive once or twice a week just for the fun of it (you already know all it's good and bad qualities), BUT I wouldn't be happy with it every day, I don't have the same pull to the G that I have to my car. It's fun, it's a great car, Hell, I even enjoy some of that kick in the pants torque it's got but it doesn't make me grin constantly like my car.

You really need to go find a used one and take it for a spin, you will know after the first 9000rpm if the S2k is for you or not. If you aren't giddy with it, you already have a great auto and you know for yourself.

Just my $.04

You should listen to your sensible side.
Especially if you were financing your G36c then I suggest that you ride it out until you pay it off.

You will lose too much money by trading and at best if you are looking for a similar or better payment, brand new S2000 will put you in a higher payment and you will be stuck with negative equity.

But if you must have it. Yeah, S2000 will rock your world.

I was in the exact opposite position as you are a week ago. I traded my 02 S2K for an 05 G35c 6MT. I miss the S but I absolutely love the G.

Good luck in your search. I'm sure you'll love the S2K.

I guess I'm the only one that doesn't get the appeal of the G35C. It doesn't do anything particularly well. I'd much rather get a 3 series coupe... or even better, keep the S2000.
