Anyone supercharge a MY04?
I know of one guy that has SC'ed his '04. He got it pretty early, basically when Comptech first released the slightly modified kit.

SC only void the warrenty if it can be shown that the supercharger caused the problem, i.e. if you have a tear in your top, that would still be warrentable.
I talked to comptech guys at SacS2K days and they've been running a MY04 with an upgraded pully, The dyno charts are supposed to be out by the end of the month. Like earlier models it generates 295rwhp(according to comptech)

By law it only voids the warranty if the manufacturer can prove the SC directly caused the problem. It's not up to the owner to prove it didn't. But in the real world contesting such warranty issues is usually a royal pain because the dealer will make every step a real hassle for you, whether or not it really was your work that caused the problem.
I added the Comptech SC to my 04 a few months ago. I've seen others post here who have done the same thing.
I went in knowing that it may be tough dealing with the dealer on warranty issues that may be related to the SC; if they give me grief or make it too difficult, I've accepted the fact that I'll just replace it myself and move on, even if it's the engine itself (let's hope not).
But if it's obviously not related to the SC, I'll fight it. Just because you add one doesn't mean all parts under the warranty aren't covered.

....what do you mean....
....if you want to get any more real power out of the S the only option is FI. SC will buy you 100 HP. Your other choices are I/H/E which in terms of power don't do very much, especially for the price)
If you're talking about reliabilty...personal choice...there is some risk but you can also reduce that risk if you choose to.

I agree with CrazyPhud and would add that you may want to get comfortable with the warranty issue.
Assuming you comfortable with the repair costs now, another way to look at it is: Put it on now and most likely pay if some thing goes wrong (assuming it is related to the SC) or put it on in three years and certainly pay if something goes wrong. Either way you'll most likely pay. I wanted the extra power now, not in three years (or whenever our warranty is up).
Adding the SC brought a big smile to my face, even without the after cooler, which goes on soon (hopefully bigger smile).

how can you reduce the stress on your engine created by the SC? I mean, are there some things you can change first off to help strengthen your engine (and anything else) before you throw on the SC?
i really wanna put on the SC, but i also dont want to break anything

So as long as you leave the boost level the same as the stock supercharger, you're not likely to unduley stress the engine. There is no reason the believe that a properly designed FI system can't reach 95% of the service life of an unmodified one.
The biggest safety mod would be to get an AEM EMS tuned(could use E-manage) so that you make sure that you aren't running lean. The greatest risk that any FI car has is running too lean and detonation occuring.
Other than that there are a bunch of things you can do to provide safety but most are overkill. Things like lower compression pistions, sleeving the block, etc. Most you'd probably only want to do if you were planning on running high boost.
There are risks to FI, but there is a ton of information about it on this board and a couple of decent books too. If you're concerned about the issues then read up until you feel comfortable knowing what you are getting into.
