Default Anyone's who's changed Softtops

I'm seriously considering switching my 01 to a 03 softop, since I really want the glass rear window (I think it looks MUCH cleaner). I'm curious what anyone paid for the parts (the top) and the labor to get the work done, if it was done by a shop/dealer. I would not be capable of doing this much work by myself.

Also, if there's any long term problems anyone's encountered by doing this, i'd be interested to know. i know it's a complicated mod, but one which i think will be most worthwhile. Thanks!!!

I don't know the answers, but have you tried doing a search? This topis was discussed to death 2 years ago, with lots of good information on all aspects relating to replacing the top, including some Do-It-Yourself pictures. Good luck.

I did a search, but couldn't find any definate answers, especially about labor.

I also want to know if anyone who's done this has had any problems since then.

Labor is about 200-300 including the mods to make the top fit the 00-01 frame.

I will say my top was replaced by insurance claim

all I can quote are the "book" numbers. That doesn't mean hardtopguy can't get you a better deal on the top or there isn't a cheaper way to install it . . . . but

The top retails for right at $1800

The quoted labor is 9.5 hours at the dealership.

hope that helps.

That's about the dealer quote I got, 10 hours- about 500-650 to get installed.

S2000raj, where did you get it done for 300?

the top goes for 1100 for glass and 1000 for plastic. The labor will be 350-400 at where I got it.

Ganley Honda, a site sponsor, has the top for $850 shipped. You can find my install instructions with pictures in the library.
