Default AP1 or AP2

I've had this love for S2k's for a long time and I am planning on getting one. But my choice between AP1 and AP2 is very hard. I like the looks of the AP2, but I like the high RPM of the AP1. Can you guys please give me some suggestions and why i should go with a certain type of model thank you, much appreciated

I Have an 06 because of the dbw and Vsa. Also motor has 2.2l vs 2.0l.
You could always buy a Ap1 and do the ap2 face lift yourself. Or get a newer model with a couple different colors to choose from.

I will offer you withe same advice I gave myself when I purchased my AP2 and that is:

"Are you REALLY going to let a cars purchase decision be made over a 800rpm window of operation? AP2 8200rpm redline AP1 9000rpm redline."

Think long and hard about how much time you're going to spend between 8200-9000 in that AP1 and see if the AP2 is more appealing to you afterwards. I loved my AP1 and I swore the F20C was awesome and 9,000 was the only way to go. Now I drive an AP2, and I am much happier with the F22C's torque.

Besides, if you REALLY want 9,000rpm you can put an 00-01 AP1 ECU into an 04-05 AP2 and still have 9,000rpm. If that's REALLY that important.

I had an AP1, replaced it with an AP2, sold it and got an AP1. Personal preference. 9k is more fun for spirited driving. Loafing around town or daily driving an AP2 is ok.

This was pretty much it. To me, 9000 is an arbitrary number that didn't really make it OMG better than 8000-8200 rpm. Hell, both AP1 and AP2 are slow as donkey balls. I went with the newest model I could afford, and it just happens to be an AP2, even though the AP1 was what brought me into the S2000 scene.

I have an 06+ ap2, and I would have chosen an ap1 if I can start all over again after driving one
If this is your dd I'd say 06+ ap2
If this is your weekend fun car go for ap1 (you can always do the facelift, there're tons of threads on it)
If you're still young and inexperience PLEASE go for 06+ ap2
