Default AP1 and AP2 OEM Intakes

Hey, i have an MY04 and i am trading my intake (OEM) + $$$ for someone's Comptech CAI .
he has an MY00 and i was wondering if my intake would just bolt in to his car or if there are any differences. i have installed other intakes in other cars but i'm just curious if the MY04 intake would fit the MY00 without modification.

Thanks in advance
Iqbal

It depends on the intake. CompTech has a version that fits MY00-MY03 and another for MY04-05. But the core of the kit is the same. Only a few odds and ends make them differant. The AEM on the other hand, are all the same.

But to anwser your question, will an MY00 Intake fit an MY04? Yes, but you will have to relocate your horn on the passenger's side fender. MY00 only had one horn. MY04 has two. You might have to make a bracket to mount it. That is what I was talking about, odds and ends. The but Intake will fit just fine.

^So you're saying that an MY05 intake box will not fit on an MY08?

The OEM Boxes are all the same, All Years. The tube is differant on the 06+ because of the DBW. They still can be internchanged, but the number of holes to connect the emissions related stuff is where the differance is.

I have an 06+ intake tube on my track only car. I have no emissions either. That allowed me to have only 1 hole to plug in the tube instead of three.

Gotcha. So, say if I were giving my MY05 box + tube to my buddy with his MY08, he will need to plug holes on the intake tube? Correct? Everything else will fit correctly though..

Thanks so much for the help sir!!
