Okay, I'm about to buy a 2004 s2000 and for some reason it has the interior of an ap1. It only has 1 cup holder and the rear defrost button is on the dash near the climate control. It has the ap2 steering wheel and it rev's to 8k. Everything on the exterior is ap2, did some 04's not come with the 2 cup holders and VSA? Thanks for any help.

 

Also, I checked the carfax and the year and miles match up.

 

No VSA on the 04 model. And your defrost is correct. The center console was probably sold at some point in time and replaced with an AP1 center console...my guess at least. Like for instance I have an AP2 center console in my AP1.

 

I have an '04 that I purchased new; the 'cupholder' is nothing more than a spring-loaded post that pops out inside the console to hold one small beverage/cup. No two cup holder that I know of. And to verify, the defrost control is on the dash and there is no VSA for '04.

if ur really worred that its not an ap2, check the engine

 

When it was broken into they took the console since it's desirable to AP1 owners. When the car was rebuilt after the theft they used the wrong part.
