Default AP2 front lip

bone stock (except K&N)
black/red
16K miles
I was just wondering ....is there a moulding that goes on in between the lip and the bumper. i have seen it on the CR,s but not sure if on the OEM lip for the non CR. If so what color on a silverstone should the moulding be. i have only seen black and grey
Thank to all

Assuming you're referring to what Honda calls the front under spoiler no moulding appears in the installation instructions:

https://s2000.club/OM/FrontLip.pdf

But since that didn't seem right I went down to the garage and there IS a black rubber moulding between the spoiler and bumper on my '06. Perhaps the moulding is already attached to the spoiler when shipped.

There is a molding, with a separate Honda pn. Comes in like 9' length.

Comes in black or light grey.

Comes with double stick tape applied.

Used for front lip and side strakes. One kit is enough for both.

A search in this forum will find the pn's.

Been several years since the front spoiler was put on my car and I didn't do it, the body/paint shop did it after refinishing the front bumper which was a mass of stone chips. Knowing this shop I'm sure they followed the instructions to the letter. The spoiler and all parts were in the factory box. The moulding was either pre-attached or enough was included in the big box but the only instructions I can find don't mention it. It's possible the latest spoilers didn't use the moulding since none in mentioned on the installation sheet dated October 2007 in which case a no-moulding installation would be more "correct."

Anyone with an '07 or '08 car with the OEM spoiler?

These spoilers have been out of production for several years but I recall there's a member here somewhere in the EU or UK who has a source for them.

'06 ap2. Fender bender in around 2014, damaged aftermarket front lip. Body shop ordered new oem lip, and it came with the trim. Shop managed to install it correctly. So have to assume there were decent instructions.

First thing I ordered when I got my car was the front lip. The moulding was already pre-applied to the lip, just had to remove the film covering the adhesive before mounting.

OEM lips come with the moulding strip already applied.

Unfortunately, they're not readily available anymore.

If you buy an aftermarket lip, you need to DIY the moulding. Use common sense and cleanliness. Success will follow.

But you can buy the molding by itself.
