Ap2 front lip
Hey I just put on a ap2 front bumper/lip, on my way home I hit a bump and my lip scratched my bumper, damnz on fresh paint too... What can I do to keep the lip from moving when I hit a bump? I want the lip to stick on the bumper so when I hit a bump it won't go up and down... its small but I hate getting my new bumper scratch since its slammed

Is it OEM or is it a replica? The OEM should have some double sided tape and a black/grey strip on the top which should help prevent scratching/ lip moving.

Coastal Metals splitter is a thin aluminum splitter that would attach to the bottom of the lip and protect it from scapes - it would be the sacraficial part. It is crescent shaped to more or less follow the profile of the lip on the underside projecting out in front slightly so that it can perform its "splitting" function.
I don't understand you guys who slam your cars and are then surprised when the front end hits the smallest of bumps in the road - just look at the geometry of the front edge of the bottom of the bumper/lip relative to the centre of the tire contact on the road and you will get some idea of what height of obstruction you can safely navigate without bottoming out, and then stay away from everthiing else that is higher. The lip is really made for a track environment where the pitch of the transitions in the roadway surface are very small and controlled. where the lip can do what it was intended to do.without colliding with the road surface constantly. The obvious answer is not to lower your car - even then, with the lip installed, your ability to go over bumps is impaired compared to just the plain bumper because it reduces the approach angle that can be handled.
I think the Coastal splitter is a nice protection for the bottom of the lip but it will suffer the damage that the lip would otherwise suffer. Because it does protrude out front a little, however, it may give you some more timely feedback about your position relative to the curb you are about to mount!
