Default AP2 Headlights with no amber pieces (CLEARED)

As with any mod these days it starts off innocently enough with a simple goal and then progresses from there..................

In my case I just wanted to swap my OEM D2S xenon bulbs for 8000k bulbs for more blue in my xenons

After like 18 bolts and a bunch of cursing I finally got to the headlights and figured what da hell and decided to swap out all the bulbs for LED versions. Then I realized the amber pieces are kindly unsightly so decided to remove them. (trying to save labor in the long run...hehe)

Baking headlights is nothing new to us so that wasn't such a big deal. My original plan was to use silver reflective tape to fill in the amber reflectors that face sideways on the car to give it a more complete look. But unlike the BMW 645ci lights we did a ways back, I actually like the black panels better so decided last minute to leave it blank. The front facing round amber pieces were also removed and IMO looks ok just blank. I'm currently running the stock 7440 bulbs in there since I hate the ricey blue bulbs. However due to legal issues I'll probably pick up some silvervision or LED yellow bulbs to comply with local vehicle laws.

I will take some better pics later but here's a few initial shots of the car.

I love the new clean look with no amber up front. And the 8000k xenon bulbs really change the look of this car at night

Very nice!

Couldn't you just swap the bulb for the HID without removing the headlight?
What else was involved or did you just swap bulbs?

Pix of the lights in action?

NO you can't reach the low beam Xenon bulb from the fender.....you must remove the bumper to my knowledge.

The lights are soooo BLUE now that it make Audi and Lexus owners turn heads. I don't notice that much of a loss of light ouput which is the good news but bad news is that now it attracts cops at night like insects!

I had my brother drive the car last night and I was following in my SUV...the blue light it casts on the road is VERY noticeable and substantially different from a normal s2k's light though the spread pattern has not changed.

as per local laws in NJ, you can use white turn signals up front just not in the back....odd in my opinion, most cops do not harass me for having whites in the back though. Unless they really want to be mean about it. Could always argue that it is within the legal spectrum...with that hint of amber
