Default AP2 stock suspension

So, I the stock suspension on my S. Just the right amt of feel and damping. I wouldn't change a thing about it. That's just me, though.

My question is this: I'm worried after a few years the stock suspension with loose some of it's step. Get soft, wear out, whatever. What suspensions out there are comparable to the 04-05 suspension? Without getting tooo costly.

I know all the coil-over adjustable suspensions can be fine-tuned to whatever. But I don't want or need this level of sophistication. I've had those things before and it seems like I only made the ride worse with those fancy suspensions.

The only immediate answer I see is to get another set from the stealership when mine gets old, but for that amt of money, I think I can do better.

Maybe the answer is to buy up all the low-mileage used suspensions in the classifieds sections and just store them on a shelf.....

haha, nice. I'm looking to get a set of coilovers when my stock suspension wears out. Only problem is there are so many choices I'm not sure what I'd go with. I autocross once a month and track 1-2 times a year; other than that it's my daily driver so I'd like to keep it pretty close to stock as I can.

Bilstein PSS9 are better than stock ride quality on the softer settings and can be quite stiff but still well dampened on the harder ones. I've read that the Bilstein PSS's are good too if you only want height adjustability and a near-stock ride.

Or just stock up on OEM shocks

^^ I was also gonna suggest the PSS9's...Very similar to the stock suspension but with the ability to adjust the ride height to get rid of that gap.

RavynX

For you I would suggest the KW V3 Coilovers...I'm on those and they are awesome...A little more aggressive setup than the PSS9's. They are daily comfortable that also built to withstand an occasional track day/auto X.

Or maybe this thread is from 4 years ago, when CRs didn't exist.

Cool, thanks. What kind of roads do you drive on? They can get pretty rough down here in Texas; just wanted to know what "daily comfortable" meant to you for a good comparison.
