Default AP2 Tires

I'm thinkin about tires....it's still a little ways away, but contemplating my options....i have an AP2 with stock wheels and it's gonna stay that way....i want the same profile tires (Oe replacements), but just a more agressive tread like the ones on Yokohama's....i've looked at TireRack and i have a choice of about 12 or so models. I would consider getting the stock Bridgestones, or Kuhmo, Yokohama, even Toyo (which isn't on TireRack)......can yopu guys point me in the right direction...possibly sharing your experiences with different tires....also i should say that i use my S2K as my daily driver so it needs to be decent in the rain as are the Bridgestones....thanks in advance and a few pics wouldn't hurt....i'd really like to have a flat sidewall as oposed to the curced ones that currently are on the Bridgestones....the flat sidewall makes it look more aggressive...thanks in advance!!!!!

Im a fan of the bridgestone KDW's. They handle great in the dry and are also made for the wet with an aggressive tread pattern. I dont think they have the flat sidewall that your looking for though. If you want that flat sidewall look, id go with a set of falken st612's but those arent so great in the rain. But definitely check out the KDW's. Theyre competitively priced and perform well. Check out the hankooks and kumhos if you see anything you like.

i've had the Pirelli P Zero Neros on the car for the last year and they are fine. They are all season so they certainly last longer and aren't dangerous in rough weather, which is the way I felt with the stock Bridgestones...they were great for auto-xing but completely suck in rain, snow and milage.

I have an AP2, and my recommendation is the Bridgestone Potenza REO50A Pole Positions. You can get them from Tire Rack for $800 the set. And both wet/dry grip went up considerably...I mean the car sticks very well!

On the OEM wheels, I went to 225/front and 255/rear (which you can do with the stocks) and I'm telling you it's night and day from the stock RE)50s.

I know you'll be happy with those tires.....at least I am!

I've never done the spec comparo. I'm telling you based on my spirited driving habits. I used to turn a corner with the OEM tires and have the rear slide on me.

When I went to the PPs, I knife right through corners now. Maybe it's the combo of going a slightly larger size, but I'm loving them!

weird cause on tire rack they only show about 12 models of tires....the Bridgestone RE50's are just the OEM replacement...you don't get to choose different RE50's with different grip...???

Go to their web site and click on "tires by brand" ... then click on Bridgestone ... then click on REO50A.

Read the info on this tire and the ratings ... then scroll down and click on the ratings survey for other max performance summer tires ... you will see this tire at the top and the OEM REO50's quite a bit further down the page ...

Or ... call Jim.
