you have about 2.6 gallons left when the light goes on. So, you should be able to hit 40 miles no problem. Some have even hit 60 miles with the light.

Ah, this little nugget again!

I've gone 40 miles with the light on, but it was a nerve-racking 40 miles. It's only happened once; I don't anticipate that feeling of sitting on the road looking like an idiot, especially in an S2000...

I once went 25 miles with no bars left - there was no VTECing at that point though LOL

It would depend on how you are driving in what gear. A steady cruise at moderate speeds in 6th with top and windows up will get you a long way.. When it comes on at the track you may not have enough for another lap. Since gas mileage can easily vary from 8 to 34 in this car and the gauge is not accurate with high gees or unlevel ground, a conservative bet is to plan for the next possible stop.

Running the tank dry or low like that is extremely bad for the fuel pump. I always fill up by the time I reach 1/8th of a tank. From what I understand, the fuel pump is submerged in the gas tank and relies on the fuel to keep it from running too hot. At least this is how it works on all Ford's and I would assume it's the same on Honda's. I have only had the low fuel light pop on once, and that's because I was having so much fun that I wasn't paying attention to the fuel guage.

Always keep premium fuel in the lines.

It seems though from 3 bars to empty is only 40 miles or less.

A great car with good gas mileage,

Just keep a watch on the falling bars... :/

At least it guzzles it slow above a 1/2 tank

Using fuel to cool the pump...
Sounds like a very bad idea.
What if the pump gets too hot due to a malfunction?!!!

That is how all in tank fuel pumps work from all manufacturers.
