Default ARC Intake

I have been noticing that a lot of s2000's have ARC intake systems on them. I hear it increases low end torque. Does anyone know how much it increases torque and/or hp?

So it doesn't really increase performance much?

More like decreases performance, the only upside is the bling and the added throttle response but on a hot summer day your going to be losing some power.

How would it compare with a cold air intake? Also, does the brand of intake (aem, intake, or [generic]) make a difference in performance?

their all around same in my book

all increase HP and some torque

but along w/ better breathing=hotter air..

i just did ARC for looks.. and when i do comptech Sc ill have their icebox.. just cause thats what fits w/ it

if i were you.. just keep oem and then get the mugen peice addon..

its more about looks than performance unless u get like a AEM v2 and then wrap the entire thing w/ like some N02 cryogenics piping (freezes up) and then wrap that with some kinda of heat barrier wrap.. now that would kick ass.. act as an intercooler (remember reducing intake temp by.... 30-50degree's F would compact the air... and therefore allow more o2 in at a time=bigger explosion=more hp..

so if u got the $ do that.

i purchased the ARC also for the bling factor...
People are going to rape me on this but just my opinion.
Intake isn't gonna do all that much of a difference as far as power goes. Unless you have other mods that compliment it. But even so you are just talking at most 5whp. What is that really?
Not much unless you are on the track hardcore racing.
