Got the exhaust installed at King yesterday... had a great day talking with Scott once again. The guy really knows his stuff. One of the Motorola cup Type-R's was there, along with the King S2000 and a customer's S2000 getting goodies.

The exhaust is just beautiful... I know there are allot of options out there, and I have only heard the HKS and my Mugen - but all I can say is that I doubt any exhaust is as pretty as the Mugen. It's design and construction is nothing short of pure art. The sound is muted, reserved yet extremely more aggressive than stock. It has a very deep tone - It's as loud as you can get without being annoying. Perfect.

Take a look:

A look at the finished product:

Scott and I discuss the finer points of Titanium welding:

I'll say it again... the folks at King are the best. They really know their stuff, and are more than willing to help. And anyone who thinks that Mugen stuff is overpriced, merely hasn't seen the parts in person. They are worth every penny.

Wow, those are nice.
I had mugen on my Civic Si and it was much nicer than anything else.
I can only imagine how nice the S2000 shwag is.!
Do the mufflers bolt together at the rear or is that just me?

The pieces do bolt together.
The rear silencers actually are quite intricate in their design. The pipes that go through the center are surrounded by the stainless packing material by about 1/8" all around just where it exits into the end pipes.
I believe this will decrease pressure in the area where the packing is and allows exhaust to exit as well. Very detailed design.

Is that a new design??!! Last I saw the Mugen exhaust was a double looping muffler design that you could see it come out and go back in. Plus the tips look much better!

Pinky, don't you think you should get this exhaust to go with your headers?

I wonder how the sound on the Mugen compares to the HKS. I heard some posts that the HKS could be little abrasive after awhile. Anyone had an HKS installed there?
