Default Asthetics question

Would a fender scoop look good on the S? I'm thinking about something like this:

IMHO: No.

A scoop like that would ruin the clean line that runs the length of the body from the headlights all the way to the taillights.

As a matter of fact, that scoop (on the F430) look a little bit tacked on IMHO. The execution of that same scoop on the previous 360 was handled much better. It sat lower, and flowed much better with the lines of the car: it wasn't as noticable in profile as the same duct on the 430 is.

Granted, if you're doing it for functional reasons, then more power to you, but it still won't look good

What about something in front of the rear wheel, along the lines of the Z06? The top edge of the duct could pick up along the character crease that runs along the lower door panel and it would be more subtle (read: more appropriate for the S2000).

[EDIT]: Ha ha ha... I just realized that you were probably talking about the LOWER duct of the two visible from that picture . Yeah, that would probably look better, see the paragraph above. It's funny, because as I typed my response, I was thinking "Doesn't Sideways know that's the engine intake duct? What a strange place to put a brake duct..."

A novel idea, but I really doubt the functionalitly of rear brake ducts...

I'll jump aboard and question the usefulness of cooling the rear brakes. That Ferrari has an engine back there to cool, not brakes.

I think he's asking for asthetic purposes...not function (since the topic is referring to the asthetics of them)

Ahhh sorry, for some some reason asthetics and function on the s2000 are invariably linked in my head. When you separate the two, that's when you succeed in ricing up your car. I suppose if you do a really great job of blending it in it wouldn't look extremely out of place. Maybe a Photoshop wizard could work a little photo trickery in order to get a better idea. If at all possible, with those neat air-flow arrows included.

so by adding some fairly heaving wheels, say HRE's...your making it ricey? I get your point, but it's incorrect

Everyone has their own personal rice threshold I believe. It's up to each individual to determine where that lies exactly.
