The Atlanta Boxster Club Will be hosting a Drivers Education (DE) at the Atlanta Motor Speedway (2.5 mile Road Course set up) May 19th and 20th. We allow convertibles to run and we encourage you to join us and learn. For new people a DE is an event where you take your car to the track and depending on your experience you are placed in a group with similar drivers and for Novice Drivers, you are paired with an instructor for the whole weekend. The Instructor will teach you how to run the line and how to keep the car balanced! -- If you have allot of track experience you have a check out session and then you are placed in a group 2 (with an instructor but can be signed off for solo) group 3 Solo -- group 4 Instructor! The whole point of the DE is to learn how to drive the car -- in a safe and controlled environment! Any way I have rambled long enough! Here is more info as to whom, where, and when.

When: May 19th and 20th
First, come first taken! -- Limited to 4 groups of 20!
Where: AMS Atlanta Motor Speedway (Road course)
Driver types: ALL types -- Instructors provided for novice drivers (all non-experienced drivers must run with instructors)
Requirements: A willingness to learn and listen to other people to help you become a better SAFER Driver -- SA 95 or newer Helmet -Long sleeve, long pants and closed toe shoes
Track time: between 2 and 3 hours each day
Price $300.00 for both days per driver -- 2 driver cars are allowed! - INSTURCTORS RECIVE 100.00 Discount - $200.00 for the event

Group one and 2 drivers will spend some time in the classroom (about an hour)
Since we are a fairly new club everyone will do their first run with an instructor to insure they have as much experience they write on their entry form. AS for the Instructors "Always" with the student -- that is a yes and no... if the instructor signs off the student to solo that is a no -- if the student is new and never been at the track and is doing a great but is still learning then YES the whole weekend!

we have been updating our web page and the entry form is now on the web page. Please let me know if you need anything more. I hope to have you join us!

Can the Atl. S2000 chapter get a discount? Never hurts to ask.

You may want to post at the Atl. chapter fourms, located at the bottom.
