WHAT!!?

The S2000 shifter is the finest one I've ever experienced in 35 years of driving manual transmission cars! Why would they mess with it?

I'm afraid "more refined" is some sort of carmakers' code for "softer, with longer throws." I may retrofit the glass window if that turns out to be possible, but this thing with the shifter is making me glad I have a MY 2000. As for the livlier interior, well, if there were a yawning smilie, I'd use it here.

[i]and a more refined shift action.

My understanding is that this is just the running change made to the synchros in 2001 to minimize the 1-2 grind.

"Refined" could also mean more centering force that reduces moron shift issues (like 3rd to 2nd instead of 4th). I myself would not call that "refined" but it is possible.

I agree with Pen, as Honda has more than once blamed the #4 problem on what they consider mis shifting. Nice of them to fix a problem that does not exist though
