AutoX cone protection for MY04
Hi, I am thinking of trying my first AutoX soon, but don't want to cause any damage or scratches to my 2 week old car by hitting cones. What can I do to protect her? I would think that a bra would work as protection, however, there doesn't seem to be any yet for MY04-05, is there? Colgan doesn't make one yet for us 2.2 folks do they?
I would think that painters' tape might work, but I think there would have to be a heck of a lot of tape used to cover the vulnerable areas, no? And then trying to get it all off?!?!
Any help would be appreciated. BTW, I've got 560 miles

The rubber streaks from cones DO COME OFF. Make sure to get a good coat of wax on before heading out to the event. Some products that I have used are GOO GONE and 3M Adhesive Remover. Both of these will require you to rewax the area as they tend to strip the wax. However, the paint will not be damaged. I've done it numerous times. Just remember to keep her well waxed.
You can also install a 3M invisible bra.

Yeah, I've never recieved any damage from a cone that cannot be removed with a wax cleaner and some elbow grease... and I've NAILED some cones. Don't worry about it at all. Go hit some cones and you'll have a fun time cleaning off the stains... It'll give you something to do with a car that needs no other attention.
It's tough to clean scratches from the front bumper. If you are anal about the car's appearance, I would suggest painter's tape from the grill opening to the edge on each side. I have been able to polish out the scratches enough that most people wouldn't notice, but can't get rid of them completely.
Honda has a great spray cleaner for motorcycles that easily removes the rubber marks and you don't have to rewax as it contains carnuba wax. It is available at any Honda motorcycle shop.
This time of year is tough, because with temps in the 50s, the cones are not very forgiving.

Aside from taping up or taking off your bumper, the best protection is to carpet your garage and keep your female car in there.
Maybe I'll throw in some soft decorative pillows too. Thanks everyone else for the suggestions and tips. I will give it a try.
