Thumbs down AxialFlow short shifter HELP

i installed the shifter with white lithium grease. i torqued down the base that holds the shaft in place pretty tight. i put the rubber boot made for the axial flow around the base of the shifter. but there is very loud vibration coming from the shifter area above 6,000rpm. i even teflon taped the threads. is it because of my titanium knob? there's nothing else that should vibrate...

thanks

The short shifter is known to buzz in some cars, and the "plunger" like rubber boot doesn't always solve the problem. You might be able to quiet it with "magic fingers" (do a search) but you may have to choose between returning the shifter or putting up with the buzz.

LOL, be warned. If you use it for a while you might end up liking it as much as I like mine, and then you won't want to get rid of it in spite of the buzz.

white lithium grease is not what you should use. UREA grease (spelling??) you can get from your Honda dealership is best.

You will get used to the buzz. But your wife will not want to drive around with you anymore. At least, that was my experience in my old Integra with the B&M.
