Default back hurts after long trips.

love my car. but when i drive on long trips it kills my lower back muscles. i know this is a very general question . but has anyone done a mod to seet or put specific aftermarket cushions in to add padding and lumbar support. i only have problem with s . no problems ; well only slight problems with other cars. i do use cruise whenever possible and extend seat out so legs arent bent.

3 tips:

1. sit up straight...seriously. this makes the biggest difference for me.

2. put a small towel or lower back cushion in the lumbar area. do a search and you'll see what people have successfully used in the past

3. Keeping legs bent puts less stress/tension on your hamstrings and lower back.

EDIT: I drove xcountry in my S..and now drive 70+ miles a day for work. This is the most comfortable car I've ever sat in. I'm 5'10".

For us taller guys I don't think there is a remedy

I love my s2000 as well (this is my 2nd one) but one thing I dread is the long road trips. I'm 6'2" and have found no solution so far.....

Being the driver is "ok" and something I can live with but being in the passenger seat is pure uncomfortable.......argh!

Been debating swapping the seats out for some nice aftermarket reclineable units but that still won't help out my leg room issue. Guess this is the price I pay for loving such a small car...haha

I bought one of these for the drivers seat. They slide right in and do a great job for lumar support.

it looks like it goes behind the leather. how do you slide it behind the seat in an s. who sells these. yes sitting up straight helps and so does tightening buttock muscles at regular intervals if i can remember to do those things.

They work just like the instructions on the site show. Try to put your hand behind the center section, you will see it will slide right in (at least on the Pre-06 seats). I don't know about the 06 seats.

The link I gave sells them. They are not car specific.

For you I would also suggest the Backyard special lower driver's seat bracket. I installed it and it keeps me from hunching down to see out and to see the tac.

actually i just had an opportunity to buy those rails from a local member but i passed up on it for the time being. mainly because i wanted to get an aftermarket bucket seat but i have come to the conclusion that it would be too hard for me to get in and out of the car with one so now i do just want to get the BYS lowering rails.

may i ask how tall you are? im just trying to gauge how much the lower rails will help me. also- do you know where i can get them from? how hard of an install is it?
