i got a new top recently because of vandalisms from school. its not the honda oem top, but an aftermarket top company. one thing i noticed right off the bat is that the rear window is larger, which is nice. anyway, i was messing around with it tonight and i unzipped part of it, and now where the plastic window used to be, its open; like to the outside. im gonna go for a ride tonight with the top up, but no back window; it should be interesting. anyone tried this before? can it be done with the stock top, or is this just because i have an aftermarket one? im gonna take pictures, it looks cool in person.

All the old MG's used to do that. It was great in the heat of a summer day. The cars had no air so to keep the top up and the sun off with the back window open to increase air flow was a god send. I wish the S had this feature.
By the way did you know the back window of the S2000 has a zipper but is not designed to open with it. Check it out. The zipper is under a flap of material that is glued down around the window.

 

Quite true. This zipper is ONLY for replacing the window. It is not for repeated zipping.

The zipper is covered (and protected) by a "patch" (as Honda calls it). This patch must be removed to get at the zipper (not to mention a few other small items that make zipping and unzipping NOT easy). Removing it pretty much destroys it and a new one must be installed. I suppose if you don't mind buying a new patch each time you feel the need to unzip the rear window, then this should be no problem. A new patch only costs about 28 bucks, so not a bad price to pay for being able to unzip your rear window each time.

 

It may be that the vacuum from the back of the car makes it suck exhaust into the car with the top up and the back wondow out. It may be better with the wondows down, but I would be careful on long drives.
