Default Backside of radio cover, what is it for?

I've been puzzling over the use of the little slots on the back side of the radio cover for a month now. Anyone know what they are used for?

Officially nothing, it is just the design. But you can put whatever you wont, if it can fit in there.

Yup, they're for credit (or debit) cards...or if like me you have a boat in the marina, it's where the entry swipe card lives.

I put the little windshield sticker to remind me to get the oil changed in there.
