Bad experience with Crowder's Customizing
A few days ago, I ordered an NRG steering wheel from Crowder's Customizing (crowderscustomizing.com). They have good prices on NRG wheels, and he has over 8,000 feedback on Ebay, so I figured I couldn't go wrong. That was a mistake. I called the day I placed the order and explained that I was currently without a steering wheel, so the quickest shipping method would be best. He said sure, I'll send it out today so you can have it by Friday. Today when the package came, I opened the wheel with great excitement. However, that soon turned to disgust as I saw that it was not the $250 black w/carbon trim wheel that I ordered, but a $120 black w/black plastic trim. The biggest car show of the year is happening 5 minutes from my house today and tomorrow, and I've already paid $40 to register. Now, I am stuck with the choice of either:
a. Putting the wheel on so I can go to the show and taking a chance it is un-returnable or
b. Sending it back and being without a steering wheel for another week.
The owner knew my situation when he mailed the steering wheel out. He told me he personally pulled it off the shelf. Also, the ring that goes around the horn button looked used. It had the paint mostly scraped off where the screws tighten down, and also had several paint chips around the edge. The steering wheel box was scotch taped closed, along with all the plastic bags of hardware inside. I highly doubt NRG uses scotch tape to seal their packages. Everything about my order screams scam. I have left him a voice mail and email, 4 hours with no response. When I called him to begin with to inquire about shipping, he either answered right away or called me back minutes later. I doubt he's been with a customer for 4 hours straight.
Oh p.s. - Today is my birthday. What a wonderful present. Spend an hour installing a steering wheel I don't even want just so I can drive my car until this moron calls me back.

I think the guy is doing way more business than he can handle.
He sent me an e-mail to clarify which car I ordered the steering wheel hub for. I answered his e-mail the same day. After 2 weeks, I called him, and he said he never received my e-mail. Then he shuffled through papers for about 5 minutes before he could even find my order.
He also said my stuff was shipped out on Friday, when it wasn't shipped until the following Monday.
I had no quality problems with the steering wheel, hub and seat that I ordered. The shipping time was also reasonable.
After I received the steering wheel, I decided that the diameter is too small (my fault!). So, without contacting Crowder, I wrapped it back up and returned it a week later. I'm now waiting to see if he'll exchange it for a larger size.
If he sends back the same wheel, I can't complain. If he exchanges it for a larger one in good condition, I'll be very happy.
The bottom line is that you and I bought from Crowder's Ebay store because he has the best prices. From past experience, I know that usually the worst service comes from those who sell for less.
Sorry to read about your situation.

PS: Happy Birthday, bro!

I ordered a few Momo stuff from him before and the box for each item I ordered were crushed and about to tear apart. The items looked new though, so I didn't complain. The shipment came on a regular shipping schedule too.
^ Yes, the boxes weren't in the best shape. It's frustrating that I can't even get ahold of the guy. He still hasn't answered my email or phone call. Hopefully I can get this resolved soon, otherwise I guess I'll be keeping the cheap wheel for awhile. A steering wheel is not really the priority on my car right now, but it would be nice to have the one I ordered and paid for.
