Default Is this a bad idea?

I live in Michigan and I will be driving my S all year round. I try and keep my cars as clean as possible, but with Michigan winters it is a little hard. Since I can't take my S to a carwash I have washed it by hand about 2 or 3 times now, and I nearly froze my fingers off. Today on my way to work I was so frustrated about how dirty my car was that I went to one of those high pressure quarter carwashes. I made sure not to use the soap, and I did not spray directly on the top. I just wanted to get the dirt and salt off of the body. I was running late to work so I did not towel dry the car, instead I accelerated as fast as possible to about 80mph. This got most of the water off of the car, but the water that remained froze to the body. Do you guys think this is bad, and will it damage the paint having frozen water droplets stuck to the car?

Hmmm...dunno..But two for creativity. Its just water..as long as you dont have any exposed rust spots....

I wouldn't worry about it. Frozen water from a carwash shouldn't do any more damage than frost or snow does to your paint, which isn't anything. It's all the crap that they put on the roads when it snows that causes all the damage.

I've used that one and got away with it.

Buy yourself a waffleweave towel so you can dry it off next time. It takes about 2 minutes to dry off the S. You can just throw it in a plastic bag when your done so it doesn't get the trunk damp.

I use the high pressure wand wash all the time. If it is too cold to hand dry and if someone kicks me out of the covered wash bay I just drive at high speed to dry it off like you do. The frozen water on your car is better than the salt that is stuck to the body for sure.

Just about the only time my S gets a bath in the winter is about twice a week in the touchless automatic carwashes. They do a great job, plus spray all of the salt off the underside of the car. Some people on this forum get a little out of touch when it comes to washing their S, remember, it's just a car.
