I have undertaken to delete my posts of any content here since the Management here has made this an unfriendly place for me and the club I founded and am President of, the S2000 Club of America, Inc. and they have claimed that my words have somehow become THEIR property. If you would like to read whatever post, please contact me at greg@s2kca.com. Thanks

Doesn't surprise me. If a VGS owner could change his steering wheel to that of a non-VGS, somebody could be in for a big surprise! Now, why a VGS owner would want to do that, I don't know.

the vgs system sounded like a good idea but what're your thoughts on this article (assuming that most of you have read this already since it's a few weeks old):
http://www.zigzagasia.com/cars/s2000/022/project.html

"The results were quite surprising. Nakaya analyzes the handling on both cars. "The normal S2000 is fast, but is a little hard to clear tight corners, since once you lose the sweet spot on the power band, it's difficult to recover." And the Type V? "My first impression of this car was 'dangerous.' The driver has no idea how the car is performing as this car has poor tire and steering feedback. The best time for the Type V was even slower than the stock MR2-Spyder that we also tested, which obviously means that the new steering system totally spoils the S2000's original abilities."

It sounds like the VGS on the Type V needs more time in R&D until we can really appreciate the Formula car-like driving pleasure."

btw, how much more expensive was the vgs version of the car? and thats still a damn nice steering wheel

I don't doubt your word Greg or your contact's conviction and knowledge, but this IS possible. The VGS system has many parts, not just the wheel, and the wheel gearing alone has little effect. All parts of this steering wheel are replaceable...trust me. Just get me a price and I'll bet I can make it work. If I can't...it's my $400 dollar mistake (just a guess at the wheel price).

seems to me that if rick can recover the old wheel..then the simple addition of a flat horizontal lower bar to the stock wheel and recovering....mebbe a bit more than 400 bucks....easier than fooling around with splines-n- stuff.

Although the VGS wheel looks cool, why would you put it on a non-VGS equipped S2k anyway? Kind of like slapping Type R badging on a base model Integra IMO (unless you could get them to make the wheel without the VGS designation).

Hell ... Please guys, don't be rice and put a VGS steering wheel on a non-VGS car. No matter what it takes, it's still different. Those who complain about rice, this is also very ricey. Sorry but I will feel pissed if I see a non-VGS with a VGS steering wheel as well.

Hmmmm, now where are those NSX badges that I want to put on my Stook?

I agree with Takashi KazuMori, don't do it unless you can get rid of the VGS designation!'

As has been said before, don't go to the Dark Side!
