#2 yes
#3 correction: S2000 + winter tires + snow = a blast!

Actually it handles very well in the snow, just with snow tires. It doesn't like ice though

I got the Blizzaks put on as well this year and my S2000 was able to crawl out of an inclined parking lot with about 9" of standing snow. I found the traction on snow and ice to be very good with these tires and I feel very confident. The only real problem is the ground clearance, especially when the plowed snow melts and refreezes into ice boulders which my bumper doesn't cut into as well.

As for traction control, I ran my Z3 2.5-liter with snows and you had to turn the traction control OFF in certain situations when rocking the car out from deep snow was required, otherwise, you'd go nowhere.
As for the Honda, November was Vermont's fourth snowiest (is that a word?) on record and I drove my S2000 without a problem when the roads were bare of snow and/or ice. I'm still on my set of Kumho 712's (7K on the tread) which are certainly no winter tire but the compound remains pliable enough for traction even in the lower temps (20's or above) so I've been pleasantly surprised. I had these same tires on my Contour SVT and got caught in a snowstorm once and they are definitely horrible when there is snow under 'em but like I said, tar only and I drive the car like a Civic this time of year (with occasional pushes) so I'm not driving very aggressively which might immediately bring the Ecsta's limitations in cold weather to front. So far, it's been a pleasure to be able to drive the car year round without putting it up (I simply do not like to do that to automobiles...my own personal opinion) I wash the car 3x/week (no salt accumulation here) and maintain a decent distance from those in front of me (windshield is fine but hey, that's what insurance is for).
I will say this though...with a dedicated set of winter tires, I definitely think the car would be a hoot to drive in the white stuff. My Z3 ran on Pirelli snows with a 50-lb bag of kitty litter in the back and that car laughed at snowstorms. I suspect the S2000, properly equipped, would do no worse.
