Default Battery Replacement

I recently had my battery replaced, after 5 1/2 years and 53,265 miles. The total cost for the whole procedure at a Honda dealer was $130.79 .

Here is my complete maintenance log: http://s2000.home.att.net/s2000/main...e_expenses.htm

Much stronger battery than the oem honda one. I would never pay the dealer to do it either but if your not sure what your doing I suppose its safer that way. But it is just a battery

Come on guys, don't jump on him for taking the car to the dealer for maintenance. Do what you want to do yourself and have the dealer (or other mechanic) handle the rest.

What exactly makes the optima stand out? I know i've read a lot on the boards about it, but recently my battery died and so I had to run over to autozone and they only had the D51R which is the reverse. So instead I just grabbed a duralast which ends up costing about $75 I believe with the core exchange. The cranking amps are the same and the reserve capacity on this battery is 85 compared to the optima's 70. Anything else to look for?
