You can definately 100% run this with a stock bottom end and compression and definately not losing any power. The reason it is recommended for those with 12:1 or higher is because these cams will shine the most with higher CR's. That's not to say at all that they wont make a substantial amount of power with 11:1 CR.

what kind of tuning would a cam like this need? would a vafc2 do the trick or would one need an EMS?

You can run a VAFC to tune it since it's not overall as dramatic as something like an F/I system. However obviously to take the maximum potential out of these you should get an EMS since timing control is a nice thing to have. You should be able to advance the timing some with these and also get lower EGT's compared to stock.

Interesting. Are adjustable cam gears required with either of these cams?

Adjustable cam gears would be recommended for any cam swap. The ability to advance or retard cam timing is how you extract maximum power from any set of cams.

Some stage 2's would be sick on my ITB setup....too bad I'm cut off

Here's some info about the cams directly from BC himself:

[QUOTE]
The Stage 3 cams will work with a stock bottom end, but I suggest only taking it 500 rpm or so above the factory rev limit.

Adjustable gears are not necessary.

No power gains with your 2006, but [Stage 3 cams/valvetrain] testing on the F20C yielded 40 HP gain at 7500 rpm. I do not have any actual dyno charts though as that was back in my days at Crower, but the specs are proven.
