Default Been thinking...

Hey guys, i will soon be purchasing a 04 S2k and have been looking at a single outlet exhaust such as the J's or others comparable.

I was thinking it would look a lot better in the rear with a 00-03 rear bumper so i dont have a huge hole there and empty design in the bumper of the 04.

Im assuming this can be done considering people do the 04+ conversions all the time on the 00-03's.

Would any modification be required?

Thanks

Hope to be posting about my new purchase SOOOON!

Brad

I'm a little lost here, as my '01 has a rear bumper with "holes" for the "fake" dual exhaust. So I don't see how changing bmpers on an AP2 to those for an AP1 will solve the problem for those AP2 owners wanting a single outlet exhaust.

Thanks,
Richard

There is a single exhaust cap that can be purchased used or new in the groupbuy sections that will make the 00-03 dual outlet, into one. Since that 00-03 exhaust area is a seperate piece it is easier to take off, and replace...pluse its less pronounced then the 04-06 where the exhaust holes are molded into the bumper and are larger. There is also no cap that can be made to block off hte 04-06 bumpers unless you get a custom mold job.

dolebludger,

They make an aftermarket thingy that takes away the hole on the left, for the ap1...

Integra21,

Ok idea but do you really want that loud of an exhaust???... you've never heard a drone until you hear it on a S2000... think about it... really...

So the MY00-03 rear bumpers are interchangeable with the MY04+?

I converted from ap2 rear to ap1 with gp add on and I love it, tried to convert it to 3 inch single but it was just wayyyy too loud so I I kept the stock exhaust but it still looks/sounds great with my megan racing header and t1r test pipe though....
