bent valve, over-reved???
i have a '02 s2000 with 4 k miles which is currently at Tameron Honda with 1 bent valve.
the HONDA rep looked at it and wants $7000 to replace engine. this is becoming a problem and some of us havnt overreved the engine. mine really sounded more like crankshaft/bottom end noise; and 1 bent valve should totally disable a car. i have heard all the opinions from people with working engines , what im looking for is some advise from those who have been involved in this mess for months. i have seen posts going back as far as march on BENT VALVE/NO WARRANTY COVERAGE. no flames please , i have heard all the opinions.

Shouldnt Honda be able to fix the bent valve instead of replacing the whole engine? I had 3 bent valves in my 328ci, and BMW managed to fix it. They didnt charge me 1 cent for the work and I got a 2001 540i 6spd loaner . I was told if I had to pay for the repair it would have been somewhere in the high $3,000 range.

the say it must have been over-reved and the reason for replacement is there is some obvious metal shavings on the pistons. i dont know the serial # the car has been at the dealer for 45 days.
