Default Berk Test Pipe=black exhaust tips?

I installed a Berk TP about three months ago. Since then my (stock) exhaust tips have turned from golden in color to almost black. My car is MY01 and is otherwise stock.

I assume this is due to unburned fuel or something.

Anybody have any suggestions on how to remedy this? (aside from scrubbing the tips all of the time

Thanks!

Heather

The S2000 runs rich normally and even with the cat on, you should have seen the tips get carboned up. Now, with the testpipe, the situation is amplified. I think you just need to wash the tips more often and use NEVR-DULL to keep the buildup down.

Yes, put the catalytic converter back on the car. Soot happens without one.

Also as a precautionary, make sure that you clean and wax your rear bumper very well. I speak from experience. A brown rear bumper on a sebring doesn't look very nice.

Yeah, I am more worried about the bumper turning brown.

Guess I'll wax it tonight and clean the exhaust tips more.

Thanks!

I've been painting all of my exhaust that shows flat black for years now because I'm not gonna polish and clean something that will get messed up after a few minutes of driving. I'm not into the "bling" look anyways.
