Default Berk Test Pipe Experience

All,

I know that test pipes have been beat to death on this forum, and I have read zillions of posts before I made my decision ...

I decided on a Berk Test Pipe last Thursday, and contacted Bryan (who was VERY prompt and helpful) at Berk Technologies in California. (keep in mind I live on the east coast of Canada)

I paid for it on Friday morning, Bryan Shipped it via my preferred shipping method (USPS to avoid UPS brokerage fees) It arrived on Tuesday !

I had the test pipe installed at a local shop this morning and here is what I have found after a 30 mile scream in the car. (call it first impressions)

1.) Fitment was absolutely perfect ... mechanics were very impressed with the quality of the test pipe. Took them all of 15 minutes and they took their time.
2.) I installed it with a stock exhaust, and I already had a K&N FIPK on the car
3.) The car sounds a LOT better in my opinion. No drone at all ... no rattles or "tinny" sounds which some have said. I have been looking for something with a little more "rumble" down low, and a bit more of a scream up top ... I now have both ! (well, as much rumble as a 4 cyl. can produce anyway)
3.5) Tad bit of a gas smell when I back up (with top down) and in the garage ... but nothing I cannot deal with or mind. We all need a little buzz once and a while
4.) Butt Dyno = 50+ hp
5.) Ear Dyno = 50+ hp
5.5) Actual Dyno ... I hear 2-4hp (my Butt Dyno is all I care about )
6.) Owning a Berk testpipe = "priceless"
7.) Almost forgot ... absolutely no CEL .... (mine is a 2004)

I'm very happy all and all, and will now decide if I want an exhaust (eyeing a Greddy TI-C)

Thanks to everyone for sharing all their experiences with various vendors ... it works out well for everyone involved !

David

I'm about to slap a test pipe on this coming week I think to hold me over until I can afford a cat-back. Shoot, I might just keep the stocker and run a test pipe alone.

at least try the test pipe with the stock exhaust first, before shelling out the extra $$$

If your happy at that point, you saved 1000.00

If not ... well you know what comes next
