Default Best gas

Well personally I have tried them all from Chevron, to USA, to Exxon, To Texaco, to just about anything that I can put in my car...but what I notice is that 76 is the only gas that gets my car reving hard, and the MPG seem to increase...any ideas on this or thoughts ?

If you can tell the difference between any of the big name gas companies, you're entering bionic realm.

I have heard that Chevron with Techron is one of, if not the best gas you can use. Unfortunately, I no longer live in an area that has it.

I have a good friend who is captain of gasoline tankers.. when I asked him what he thought was the best auto gasoline brand, he replied "DO you REALLY think we seperate cargoes by BRAND? You're lucky if it comes off without mixing GRADES"
Just something to think about when paying a 'premium' (pun intended) for fuel.

When gas is pumped across several states from the refiners, I have been told that various gasoline companies are entitled to immediately receive the same amount of gas that they put in the pipes, hundreds of miles away. The actual gas that they started in the pipes, won't arrive for delivery until days later. If this is true, the brand makes no difference. I think that various oil companies add different additives, but the gas from one company is basically the same as the gas from another. I'm no expert and don't know if any of this is true and am just passing on some dribble that I once heard.

At the Chevron gas stations, they have signs on the pumps that say they are in the Top Tier list of gas that car manufactures like BMW and Mercedes say are good. I looked up Top Tier and it gave a list of brands of gas which are supposed to be the best or something. Here is the list from their website
http://www.toptiergas.com/retailers.html

TOP TIER Gasoline Retailers:

QuikTrip
Chevron
Conoco
Phillips
76
Shell
Entec Stations
MFA Oil Company

I guess any brand here would be good for our cars...
