I really don't have a gas station I use exclusively..However I will not put in 91 octane in my car (dodges gas) when I can put 93 or higher (94) right down the road...I tend to use cheveron and shell over other gas stations..mainly because they are placed in more convenient places.

Spoiling your car like that could do more bads to it than goods. Higher octane has a slower burn rate than a lower octane. The slow burn rate is one of the factors in preventing detonation. Using too high of an octane would cause the engine to misses its peak pressure.

That is actually true. Like the FAQ says the ECU is tuned for a specific octane rated gas with a "fall back" mode. I've had the CEL come on with a misfire indication when using 100 octane race gas. Never happened using 91.

I read an article on gas a few years ago in a motorcycle magazine and their conclusion was fresh gas was more important then the brand of gas. If you buy from a station with high turnover you reduce the chance of getting "old" gas.

and everyone please reference the FAQ's sticky at the top of this forum: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=154011

cthree has a post in there about gas - like he already mentioned in this thread

We would appreciate it if folks would check out the stickies sections before asking new questions. If it isn't covered there, or if there isn't a link to a similar thread there, then by all means start a new thread

If I knew there was one thread where I can learn just about everything there is to know about gas in the S2000, and knew that thread was still alive, I'd prefer to read that one - instead of having to read through 40 different ones of differing lengths - having to read a few because the information I may want isn't in the first few I read.
