Default Best mod combo for least amount of $$$

OK. i've finally decided that i'm going to buy an s2k.
so i'm trying to get a headstart on my mod's homework. i'm trying to get the car to pull low 13's 1/4 mile for the cheapest amount of money, but i don't want shitty parts. i'm sure this kinda thread comes up alot but i'd like to ask you veteran s2k owners.

i was thinking about these parts
- AEM V2 intake (my friend has one on his car and it sounds great)
- greddy hi-power exhaust
- 4.57 gear ratio

i'm not too sure if these will cut my times anywhere near where i want it.
and what do you think is the best kind of exhaust?? i'm not too big a fan of loud exhausts, but if it sounds nice i'm down.
i would love to spoon out my whole car but its too pricey for me

IMO, if u really want to go fast. dont waste your money and just go straight for a supercharger. then after that if u still want to mod, add intakes and etc.

If all you care about is speed then don't waste your time/money with intake and exhaust. Don't get me wrong, I love how my exhaust sounds but it's pretty much just there for sound. Gears will give you the best bang for your buck without going FI.

low 13's hmm with a soft launch and 80 deg weather i ran a 14 flat with I/E. save your money and go FI or spray the beast. i got good gains from a test pipe. aem made a nice diff but nothing crazy. im saving for a FI kit.

You buying AP1, AP2 or AP2.5 (MY06+)?

Gears are best bang for the buck as mentioned.

AEM has the best intake, but also has a reputation for hydolock. If you live in a wet climate, you will need to watch for large puddles and heavy rain. A Mugen or Mugen copy or J's are decent choices. Comptech is not bad also. Higher cost would be the J's and Mugen original.

Tuned VAFC gives low dollar increase on AP1...not so much on AP2 but a little. If you buy an 06+, then the Hondata reflash is available with claimed increases (especially in conjunction with a good header like Toda or J's)

Careful in choosing an exhaust...some are just as heavy as stock and reduce hp. T1R, Amuse, and J's are safe bets for power and weight savings for a single, but trade off is loud. Find an owner with the exhaust you are considering and get a ride before you buy to see if it is too loud for you. Mugen is a good choice for dual that saves weight (not so much hp gain but a little). Test pipes are a benefit if you can get by the inspections.

That's it for "cheap" mods...and note that none of these are especially inexpensive.

wouldnt it be necessary for me to have an aftermarket intake exhaust and headers etc if i safely want to go FI? just cuz i want a little more speed it don't mean i wanna blow my engine apart.

and what does a stroker kit do? (sorry for sounding so nub) but everyone learns somewhere right??
