Im getting ready to buy a s2000 next week. Before i go and get 1 i would like to know what is the best year or are they all good. im looking to road racing with it. I know they made a change in 2006 to drive by wire. does this make it difficult to upgrade. Thank you in advance for your input.

 

MY 2009 would be the best since all improvements ever made for this car would be incorporated into the latest model. However, they are all so simular, (within AP1/AP2) it probably makes little difference.

 

i was looking at 2005, 2006 and 2007 what improvements did they make on yhe 2009

 

i say go drive them so you can compare what you like best. some people like ap1's, some like ap2's.

 

Beyond some suspension changes and a redesigned dash, nothing that I know of.
This does not mean that there wern't factory modifications to parts and even bolts that may have been updated. Probably unreported if they exist but you still have to believe that Honda applied their best to all areas of the 2009.

 

I'd say look '06 and up if you want one that handles better as a daily driver. It had slightly more torque than AP1 but a slightly less rpm redline.

HOWEVER, if racing against ap1/ap2, you'll be even.

 

They're all good. Just get the best-condition one that you can afford.
