Default BEST THING EVARRRRR!

Don't you hate it when people post S2000 Talk threads without any indication of what the thread is about....

Please use descriptive titles so people can choose how to best spend their clicks.

That is all.

This public service announcement brought to you by cranky moderators for the education of new s2ki.com users....

I personally don't know you or anything, and you must know what you are doing and be well respected to be a moderator in these forums, but I think you are a little quick to lock threads, considering there aren't that many new interesting threads going on to begin with.

Are there any guidelines on what is locked/unlocked, or allowed and not allowed?

I'm not trying to stir anything up, I just wanted to know how you make the decisions. You haven't locked any of my threads or anything, I'm not bitter, I was just wondering.

I don't understand what all that animation means. Like I'm falling on my own sword or something?

I think it's a pretty legitimate question. I don't care either way, but if I were a moderator, I would lock your thread, cuz it has no point. haha.

Hopefully you don't hate me or something just for questioning "the man"

PS, in the real world, I am actually "the man," and I hate myself for it. ha

Qualification for being moderator: Thick skin, fast internet connection, plenty of free time. Not sure about those other things you mentioned.

But I think you are a little quick to lock threads, considering there aren't that many new interesting threads going on to begin with.
Interestingly, I haven't heard from anyone whose threads I've locked. If anyone took exception to a particular thread being closed, I'd be happy to discuss reopening it.

Are there any guidelines on what is locked/unlocked, or allowed and not allowed?
There are rough guidelines (in the FAQ and stickies) of this forum. As you can see, not many people read them before posting. And there we are.

I use the following criteria:

1. Is the post S2000 related?
2. Has the question been answered completely (like where's the gas door lever)?
3. Did the thread conform to the general guidelines (like title that remotely describes what the point of the thread is)?
4. Is the thread offensive?
5. Is the thread turning into personal attacks or deviated far off-topic from the original poster's intent?

Sometimes, I'll let a thread slide if it:
1. Throws a new wrinkle or aspect to an age-old question.
2. Has good discussion / debate (even if it's AP1 vs. AP2, which is better?!)
3. Serves a purpose in helping the OP get some traffic first before moving it to the appropriate forum (like Car Talk, Electronics, etc).

The lack of "many new interesting threads" isn't on my decision tree when locking or unlocking a thread. I could go around bumping historically interesting or funny threads from years past, but that's not the point.

And yes, of course you would lock this thread if you were moderator. We all would. That's the point. It's good natured fun in the context of the "Newb Question" thread on the main page of this forum.

See qualification point number 1 for moderator: Thick Skin.

I don't hate anyone. There's too much hate in the world already. Interwebz is for lulz.

Most people would have just asked the questions via PM. I don't mind answering in the thread, though.
