Best way to launch with some sort of authority?

I reread the original post more carefully.
I'll post the following observations.
1. The OP asked about the best way to launch with authority.
2. He then described the correct, fastest way to launch in autocross.
3. He then said he wasn't interested in doing that.
I think the definitive example of the "fastest" way to launch for autocross is what the Nationals level AS S2000 do in Pro-Solo... high rpm clutch drop.
But in rereading the OP's post, he's really not asking how to launch at all. He wants to know how to get moving from a stop without embarrassing himself.
With that in mind: 4000rpm hold and start gassing as you let the clutch out over ~1/2 second. You won't spin the tires and you will burn a little clutch. You won't be as fast as a drag launch, but won't do any damage to the car.
I feel this differs somewhat from what nismo4life recommended as you're not spinning the wheels and waiting for "hook up." And you're not on the clutch as long.
It is actually similar to what Mugen112 was thinking, but not the same as the description he was agreeing with (nismo4life). I personally wouldn't consider it a "launch" per se and it is definitely slower than a real launch.
We were all debating different things. Which didn't actually address what the OP was actually asking.
